I contacted the
office of the Governor, Chet Culver and I requested the following proclamation,
for 2009 Cancer Registrar week, please feel free to print it and display it at
your work station. I will bring the original to the meeting next week.
I hope each and
every Cancer Tumor Registrar celebrates in some special way during our week. We
are all hard working people who play a very important role in shaping the
quality of care in Hospital programs and our work contributes directly to very
important vital research that is being done at the state and national level.
Each Cancer
Registrar helps, to make all of us, very proud to be in this profession.
I am looking
forward to our ICRA Spring meeting next week in Iowa City, see you all then.

Our Mission
To promote
research and education in Cancer Registry Administration and/or Practice, so that we may
be of greater service to the cancer patient.
To raise the level of knowledge and performance
of Cancer Registrars through continuing education.
To disseminate information to members of this
Association regarding current activities, research, and trends in the cancer field.
To initiate and/or participate in programs to
improve and standardize the compiling of Cancer Registry information.
To provide liaison between members of this
Association and related professions, governmental agencies, medical and education
institutions, the National Cancer Registrars Association, central Cancer Registry
administrations, and other groups with needs and/or interests related to Cancer Registry
functions.
